Genesis of Sinduartola

Gurudei Devi initiated the foundation of Sinduartola on 26th Jan 1975 in Morabadi, introducing the concept of 'ratripatshala' where educated individuals taught children for free at night.

Official Registration

Registered under the Society Registration Act as Sinduartola Gramodaya Vikas Vidyalaya (SGVV) by the Bihar government. Grants were given for primary education for all dropout girls till class V and creches for children aged 6 months to 3 years.

Early Struggles

SGVV worked under smallschemes with the helpof individual donors.

Loss of a Visionary

After Gurudei Devi's death, funding by Bihar State Social Welfare stopped in 1988.

New Leadership

Rajen Kumar joined as Secretary.

New Grants and Initiatives

Grants by Samaj Kalyan Board for family counseling, TV and radio training for tribal girls, and primary education till class VIII.

Applied for FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act).

Health Collaboration

Worked with XISS, Ranchi on malaria prevention in Rania block villages.

Mission and Vision

A concrete mission and vision were finalized.

Community Engagement

Initiated ten ratripatshala (non-formal education centers) in Rania block with funding from the National Education Group (NEG) for 3 years, involving village volunteers.

Patnership with CARE India

Strengthened the Anganwadi system in Rania block and worked on women's empowerment through Self Help Groups (SHGs), strengthening Gram Sabha, supporting livelihood, and providing training for women empowerment.

Capacity Building

Funding from CARITUS INDIA, CBR forum for capacity building of staff with Sanchar, Kolkata for disabled children and persons with disabilities. Advocated for their rights and provided vocational training and skill-building for better livelihood.

Financial policy was first created.

Support for Disabled People

Funding from VSO India to strengthen Jharkhand disabled people, advocating for their rights and linking them government schemes. Partnered with XISS to conduct social audits in schools to address physical barriers and improve accessibility, including building ramps and toilets.

HR Policy and Women's Empowerment

HR policy of SGVV was formed.Partnered with Action Aid Association, India to support women's empowerment, local democracy, and advocate for tribal rights on land and water with campaigns on the right to feed and education.

Strategic Planning

Conducted logical framework analysis to identify needs and major issues, setting short-term and long-term goals for the next 5 years.

Empowering Governance

Assisted in forming the Jharkhand Gram Sabha Federation (JGSF) to empower Gram Sabhas and traditional governance systems, focusing on equal representation and participation of women and men in community-level decision-making and development processses.

Protecting Vulnerable Populations

Received funding from the British Asian Trust for preventing trafficking and ensuring safe migration during COVID-19.

Child Protection Family Care

• Grant sanctioned from Kailash Satyarthi Children Foundation to work on child rights, trafficking, and sexual abuse.
